We come forth from the
darkness
And to darkness we return.
Yet even in light's brief sojourn
It is for darkness that we yearn.
Each of us craves something
That we alone do lack.
In the end we're seeking
A way for dark to take us back.
The bright colors of the sunshine
In the end just daze our eyes
And we suckle deep the darkness
When our true selves, we realize.
There can be warmth within the cloak
Where sunlight cannot pierce.
And the desires we reap within the night
Are those we feel most fierce.
I would yield up my very soul
To the summons of the night,
If we could glide to
midnight
's bower
And find in shadows, sight.
