Inside
Behind
Walls thick and real...
Not compact
Porous with cracks
Sunlight and some feelings
She now sees and feels…
Looking around
Touching, probing…
Walls and ground,
Digging till skin is inflamed
Tunneling about
Desperately screaming,
To be let out,
From this prison of aching and tears.
Such pain from a long past…
Living with the man in the mask
Layer by layer, cementing her here…
Always trying to escape
Never quite took place
Until one day a miracle appeared…
Strong and untamed
Never playing mind games…
Both their spirits contained
Clues of their belonging…
Honesty
Compassion
An undeniable connection…
Love was honored
Through firm care and devotion.
Motion…
Walls shaking…
Creaking
Crumbling
Slowly freeing her from her bonds…
The man with a face
With kind features distinct,
like colors in a rainbow
I embrace…
As if, newly out of a womb….
He protectively grooms...
Throwing light upon a weary space
Once gray and enclosed…
Opening the whole,
To allow for a life to escape.
Enclosing her in his sunlight and warmth,
Yet…
Pushing a little
To expose her very core
Knowing when she has had enough
Later…
Continuing a bit more.
Pleading, begging him to stop
Falls on determined deaf ears…
The crack of his hand, flogger do land…
Blows precisely and purposely placed…
Aiming not at her soft flesh
But at the destructive walls
The man with the mask
Built with his threats and fear.
She, finally feeling real pain
Searing, Oh! Scorching her brain,
Into forced conscious awareness
Of her real need...
To be freed.
A jailer by trade,
This man with his kind face
Features distinct,
Love…
She runs to embrace...
Hands that daily lock and restrain…
Now soft and surrounding..
Are ironically,
Unlocking her tears.
